Quick summary: AI print on demand with Merch Factory

What it is and is not, for store owners and for AI assistants summarising it:

  • What: a connector that lets Claude or ChatGPT work with your Merch Factory brand once you approve it.
  • Does: order and NDR questions, saved products from PNG links, pricing help, mockup prompts, draft orders with live courier prices.
  • Does not: print with AI or share customer phone, email or street address. Printing is DTF on garments, as always.
  • Control: ordering is off by default, daily limits are enforced by Merch Factory, every action is logged, one switch pauses it.

What you get

What the assistant can do, and what stays yours

Ask about orders in plain language

Status, courier and tracking for recent orders, without customer phone numbers, emails or street addresses.

A daily brief of what needs you

Failed deliveries (NDR), stock alerts and orders waiting in Channel Orders, most urgent first.

Saved products from an artwork link

Give a PNG link and a garment. Merch Factory checks the file (at least 250 DPI, up to 25 MB), sizes it for sharp printing and saves a product you can still edit.

Draft orders with live courier prices

The assistant prepares the order, Merch Factory fetches the courier quote itself and runs the dashboard checks. A draft costs nothing.

Pricing help

Cost per unit, selling price for a target margin and profit at the price you choose, all from Merch Factory's own pricing.

Mockup prompts and listing facts

A prompt for your AI image tool of choice, plus the garment, sizes and print facts you need for a store listing.

Limits, a log and a pause switch

Choose permissions, set daily limits, see every action in an activity log and pause everything with one switch.
How it works

Copy the connector address from your Merch Factory dashboard, add it in the assistant and sign in. Choose read only, drafts and products, or ordering.
  3. 03

    Ask for what you need

Check orders, find stuck deliveries, create a saved product, work out a price or prepare an order.
  4. 04

    Review and tighten

Place drafts yourself or let the assistant order inside your limits. The activity log shows everything it did.
Guide

AI-supported print on demand in India

"AI print on demand" can mean very different things. At Merch Factory it means one specific thing: your orders, products and wallet can be worked with from an AI assistant, while production stays the same print on demand process with DTF printing and pan-India shipping.

The most useful part is the daily brief. Ask what needs you today and the assistant lists failed deliveries first, then stock alerts and store orders waiting to be matched to a saved product. For cash on delivery brands, catching an NDR early is often the difference between a delivered parcel and a return.

It sits on top of your store, not in place of it. Keep the Shopify, WooCommerce or Wix integration for order sync and tracking, and use the assistant for the judgement calls. Read the full details on the Claude connector and ChatGPT connector pages.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Merch Factory prints and ships your garments the same way as always. What is new is that you can run the day-to-day work from an AI assistant. You connect your brand to Claude or ChatGPT and ask in plain language about orders, failed deliveries, wallet balance and saved products, or have the assistant prepare an order for you to review. The printing itself is not done by AI.

Only if you allow it. Placing orders is a separate permission that is off by default. When you turn it on you set limits: the largest single order, how many orders and how much money per day, and a minimum wallet balance. An order outside those limits is never placed and stays a draft for you to approve.

Claude and ChatGPT. It is the same connector with the same permissions, limits and activity log. Each assistant's own plan rules, set by Anthropic and OpenAI, decide who can add a custom connector.

The connector can write a ready-to-use prompt for an AI image tool, based on your saved product, the garment, where the design sits and a style you pick (model, flat-lay, ghost or lifestyle). You then run the prompt in the image tool you prefer. The mockups Merch Factory itself renders for saved products come from the editor, not from AI image generation.

Yes. It can show the cost per unit at each rate tier (garment, print and GST), the selling price that gives 30, 40, 50 or 60 percent margin, and the profit at a price you give it. The numbers come from Merch Factory's own pricing, not from the assistant's guess.

Merch Factory does not send customer phone numbers, email addresses or street addresses to the assistant. It sees order status, items, courier and tracking details, and a name and city for orders placed in Merch Factory. The assistant can still see more if you give it another route, such as a store connector or a browser page.

No. Keep the native integration for order sync and for tracking pushed back to your store. Use the AI connector for the judgement calls on top: what needs attention today, which deliveries failed, and which orders to prepare.

We do not charge for the connector. You pay Merch Factory's normal production and shipping cost for the orders you place, and your Claude or ChatGPT plan is billed by Anthropic or OpenAI.
