Quick summary: Claude connector for Merch Factory

What the connector does, for store owners and for AI assistants summarising it:

  • Ask: order status, tracking, NDR problems, wallet balance and saved products, without customer phone, email or street address.
  • Create: saved products from PNG links (250 DPI minimum, 25 MB) and draft orders with live courier prices.
  • Order: optional, off by default: Claude places an order only inside the limits you set, otherwise it stays a draft.
  • Control: permissions per connection, an activity log, a pause switch and one-click disconnect.

What you get

Hand Claude the busywork, keep the decisions

Ask about your orders

Recent orders, status, courier and tracking in plain language. Merch Factory does not share customer phone numbers, emails or street addresses with Claude.

Catch delivery problems

Ask which orders are stuck in NDR, why the courier could not deliver and how many attempts were made.

Wallet at a glance

Your balance and the latest wallet transactions, so you know whether an order is covered before you place it.

Saved products from a link

Give Claude a PNG link and a garment. We check the file, size it for sharp printing, render the previews and save a product you can still edit.

Draft orders with live courier prices

Claude builds the order from your saved products, we fetch the courier quote ourselves and run the same checks as the dashboard. Nothing is charged for a draft.

Review in your normal checkout

Open a draft in the dashboard, complete anything missing and place it like any other order.

Automatic ordering within your limits

Optional. Set the largest order, orders and spend per day and a wallet floor. Inside the limits Claude can place the order, outside them it waits for you.

Controls you can see

Choose permissions when you connect, see every action in an activity log, pause everything with one switch, and disconnect any time.

Duplicate-proof by design

Each order carries your own reference, such as the Shopify order number, so the same order can never become two drafts or two charges.
How it works

From a connector address to your first answer in four steps

Add the connector, approve what it may do, then ask. You can tighten or remove access whenever you like.

  1. 01

    Add Merch Factory to Claude

Open your Claude page in the Merch Factory dashboard, copy the connector address and add it in Claude under Customize, Connectors, Add, Add custom connector.
  2. 02

    Sign in and choose permissions

Claude sends you to Merch Factory to approve. Pick the brand and decide whether Claude may only read, prepare drafts and saved products, or also place orders.
  3. 03

    Ask in plain language

Check an order, find stuck deliveries, turn a PNG into a saved product, or have Claude prepare an order from your store.
  4. 04

    Review, limit, adjust

Place drafts yourself, or let Claude order inside the limits you set. The activity log shows everything it did.
Guide

Using Claude with a print on demand business in India

Running a print on demand brand means a steady stream of small decisions: which orders are stuck, whether the wallet covers today's orders, whether a customer's artwork is sharp enough to print. The Claude connector lets you ask those questions in one place and, if you choose, have Claude do the repetitive parts for you.

It is built around control. Claude starts with read-only access to one brand. You decide whether it may also prepare drafts and saved products, and separately whether it may place orders from your wallet at all. If you allow ordering, the limits you set are enforced by Merch Factory itself, so a mistake in a prompt cannot spend more than you allowed.

Already selling on Shopify, WooCommerce or Wix? Keep the native integration for order sync and tracking, and use Claude for the judgement calls on top. The setup guide walks through connecting, and our guide on automating Shopify orders with Claude shows a safe way to start.

Prefer ChatGPT? The same connector works there too: see the ChatGPT connector.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

It lets Claude work with your Merch Factory brand once you approve it. You add Merch Factory to Claude as a custom connector, sign in, and choose what Claude may do. After that you can ask in plain language about your orders, create saved products from artwork links, or have Claude prepare an order for you to review.

Custom connectors are, at the time of writing, available on Claude's paid plans. Check Claude's own help pages for the current plans and for where connectors are supported, because that is controlled by Anthropic, not by us.

Claude sees order status, items, courier and tracking details, and the customer's name and city. Merch Factory does not send Claude customer phone numbers, email addresses or street addresses. Claude can still see them if you give it another route, such as a Shopify, WooCommerce or Wix connector in Claude, your browser, or details you type in. For stores connected to Merch Factory, Claude works from Channel Orders and the delivery details stay inside Merch Factory.

Only if you allow it. Placing orders is a separate permission that is off by default. When you turn it on you also set limits: the largest single order, how many orders and how much money per day, and a minimum balance that must stay in the wallet. An order outside those limits is never placed. It stays a draft for you to approve.

Yes. Give Claude a direct link to a PNG file and it creates a saved product on the garment and colour you choose. The same print rules as the editor apply: PNG only, up to 25 MB, and sharp enough to print (at least 250 DPI at the printed size). The product opens in the editor like any other, so you can adjust it.

Yes. Claude reads the order from wherever it lives: a store connector in your Claude workspace, or a shop admin page open in Claude in Chrome (for example a Wix site). It then prepares the order in Merch Factory, which prices it and looks up the courier rate itself. If Claude is not sure about an order, it tells you to check it and place it in Merch Factory. Claude can also write tracking back into the store when you ask it to.

If Claude can read your store, for example through a store connector in your Claude workspace, you can ask it to turn a Shopify order into a Merch Factory draft. Merch Factory checks stock, price, the courier quote and print quality and refuses to create the same order twice. The native Shopify integration is still the way to get tracking and status pushed back into Shopify automatically.

Yes. It is the same connector: the same address, permissions, limits and activity log. You add it to ChatGPT as a custom MCP app, subject to OpenAI's plan rules. See the ChatGPT connector page for details. You can use Claude, ChatGPT or both.

Claude can only act on the one brand you connected, with the permissions you chose. Every action is logged on your Claude page, you can pause everything Claude can change with one switch, and you can disconnect any time. Start with ordering off and review the first drafts yourself.

We do not charge for the connector itself. You pay Merch Factory's normal production and shipping cost for the orders you place, and Claude's own plan is billed by Anthropic.
