A highly refined cotton yarn treated to remove short fibers and impurities, resulting in an exceptionally smooth and strong fabric.
Combed Cotton is a highly refined, premium grade of cotton yarn that has undergone an additional, meticulous manufacturing step prior to spinning. In standard cotton manufacturing, raw cotton is simply carded to align the fibers. For combed cotton, the carded fibers are passed through specialized combing machines equipped with fine metal brushes. This combing process removes short, weak, and brittle cotton fibers (usually anything under 2.5 cm) as well as remaining seed hulls and impurities, leaving only the longest, strongest, and straightest cotton fibers. These long fibers are then spun into a highly uniform, tight thread. The resulting combed cotton fabric is significantly softer to the touch, offers vastly superior tensile strength and durability, is highly resistant to pilling, and presents an ultra-smooth, flat surface that maximizes digital ink adhesion (DTF and DTG) for crisp print details and vivid color saturation.
